Key Responsibilities To oversee every aspect of the program to guarantee consistently excellent resident care.
The Deputy Director of Nursing will collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Specialist in Dementia Care, Bed Manager, Hospitality Manager, Social Care Manager, and Chef Manager to offer oversight and leadership for the quality of services given to residents.
To serve as an on-call resource for the home, offering assistance, counsel, and direction.
Along with CNMs and deputy home manager(s), plan and oversee the on-call schedule.
To set an exemplary example and serve as a role model for staff, encouraging a person-centered approach that is the cornerstone of the philosophy and values upheld in the nursing home.
Participate in the hiring, choosing, orienting, managing, and overseeing of all new employees.
To oversee and assist all department heads, as well as the personnel in charge of nursing, housekeeping, maintenance, and catering.
Requirements A registered General Nurse on the Register of Nurses held by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
Have a minimum of three years of post-registration experience nursing elderly individuals during the last six years.
Have a minimum of three years' experience in a management position in the health and social care sector.
Hold a post-registration management certification in health or a related sector, or be willing to start one.
A managerial qualification or Higher Diploma in Gerontology is preferred but not required.
Display great leadership abilities.
Have a comprehensive working knowledge and grasp of HIQA standards and regulations in a nursing home context.
