The Role:
The CCPC's PRI Division seeks a Research Analyst to join the Market Insights Unit (MIU). This unit delivers shorter term research projects and manages requests from other divisions through the 'Research as a Service' process.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support delivery of assigned topics in the CCPC's Research Function workplan, including:
1. Developing questionnaires for research
2. Reviewing legislative, international, and general background materials
3. Gathering data and conducting statistical analysis to support findings and recommendations
* Researching, analyzing, and developing evidence-based CCPC positions on competition and consumer protection issues
* Assisting with monitoring the external environment to identify research opportunities for the CCPC to influence policy or legislative development and respond to issues of concern
* Supporting other CCPC Divisions in conducting and using research where necessary
* Assisting with managing administrative tasks for the unit, such as reporting functions, preparation of reports for publication, and engagement with the Communications Division on publication activities
* Carrying out additional tasks, including cross-divisional teamwork, to deliver business objectives of the PRI Division and the CCPC
Essential Criteria:
* Rlevant degree or equivalent in economics, social science, business & law or other relevant discipline OR comparable professional experience (2 years in a relevant role)
* Experience in survey design, statistical research, and report writing, including proficiency with at least one data analytics software package
* Strong team-working skills but with an ability to manage own workload
* Ability to research, collate, analyze, and use information from a range of sources in a clear, balanced, and concise manner
* Ability to work on multiple projects and plan and prioritize your work, adapting to changing circumstances and meeting fixed reporting deadlines
* Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
Desirable Criteria:
* Relevant experience and/or knowledge of Irish and/or European legislation and policies, preferably those concerning competition, markets, or economic regulation
* Knowledge of consumer and/or competition related legislative environment, issues, and challenges
* Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques
