Your New Role:
The Ireland Roads team is seeking a Principal Engineer with extensive experience in road schemes and active travel projects to work in our Limerick office. The team is growing, offering excellent opportunities for the right candidate.
You will lead and grow a team undertaking concept, preliminary, and detailed designs for major national road schemes, public transport projects, and active travel schemes for the National Transport Authority and Local Authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage projects to ensure coordination and compatibility of multi-disciplinary inputs on projects of varying scale, complexity, and value.
* Liaise with clients, develop strong relationships, manage their expectations, and comprehensively advise them.
* Undertake project technical lead and reviewer roles.
* Develop staff using your technical ability and experience.
* Prepare fee proposals and manage budgets for individual projects.
* Be responsible for discrete and overall project solutions.
* Lead and manage other staff members in design drawings, construction details, specifications, and bill of quantities, supporting tender packages.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation and in-house quality assurance standards/processes.
Requirements:
* Project management and technical delivery lead of Road or Public Transport/Active Travel schemes with experience of Transport Infrastructure Ireland/National Transport Authority/Local Authority procedures.
* Experience of contract document preparation or contract administration/site supervision using Public Works Contracts.
* Chartered member of a relevant engineering technical institution.
* Experience or knowledge of alignment and drainage design software packages such as Civil3D/Open Roads and WinDes preferred.
* Good communication, client management, and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent IT skills including MS Projects.
* Thorough understanding and application of current design standards including Urban Street and/or Active Travel Design.
* Strong stakeholder management experience.
