Job title: Senior Finance Manager
Location: Dublin (preferred) / Isle of Man
Overview of the role:
As the Senior Finance Manager at Flutter / The Stars Group TSG, you will have ownership of the accounting, reviewing, reporting, and ensuring compliance with the control environment for PokerStars and the wider International Division. This is a critical position in our Accounts team, where you will play a key role in meeting the reporting requirements of a publicly listed company while implementing a robust controls environment. You will be a valued member of the Reporting and Control leadership team.
Our recently renovated Dublin office is the perfect place for team collaboration and individual growth. It hosts 2 cafes, a games room, gym and an abundance of meeting rooms catered for groups of all sizes. We also run regular social and well-being initiatives, from annual sports days to weekly nail technicians on-site.
What you’ll do:
* Management of two highly capable qualified accountants and their own underlying reports, with responsibility for team and individual development; improving abilities and promoting standard processes, together with a proactive culture that supports and anticipates change.
* Close month end processes within required timelines for assigned channels, including the preparation and review of general ledger entries.
* Review and approval of monthly journal postings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with SOX requirements.
* Operate a robust cost accruals process to ensure that costs are correctly accrued within the time constraints of a fast-close environment through the use of automation where possible.
* Review all significant variances within areas of responsibility for investigation and analysis to report back to Executive Management.
* Prepare and review the financial packs for assigned departments to a high level of analysis with relevant commentary on variances.
* Oversee the maintenance and improvement of internal controls.
* Involvement in audit planning, preparation, and audit queries, as well as dealing with collaborators.
* Assume accountability for the compilation and assessment of Group reporting packs / annual financial documentation for specific Group entities.
* Take responsibility for the Flutter International group recharge accounting, working in unison with the transfer pricing team and central Flutter Group.
* Take responsibility for accounting entries and disclosure of tax workings in conjunction with the Flutter International tax team.
* Undertake other ad-hoc projects, including support on the onboarding and integration of further businesses as the Division pursues inorganic growth opportunities.
* Deputize for the Head of Financial Reporting during periods of leave.
What you’ll bring:
Essential:
* Fully qualified with one of the recognized accountancy bodies (preferably ACA).
* Several years post-qualification experience in IFRS or US GAAP financial reporting for Group companies.
* In-depth knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP and the ability to apply it in practice.
* Good understanding of the control environment relating to financial reporting.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Experience dealing with internal and external customers, including explaining complex accounting issues to non-accountants.
* Demonstrable excellent organization skills.
* An ability to deliver high-quality work to strict project delivery timelines.
* People management and team experience.
* Strong academic credentials (e.g. honors degree) and experience operating in a similar environment.
* Strong collaborator with the capability to work autonomously.
* Excellent time management skills.
* A driven and proactive individual who has a desire for continuous improvement and advancement.
Desirable:
* Experience working in a SOX regulated environment or highly regulated industry.
* US GAAP accounting experience.
* Experience preparing technical accounting memos.
* Experience working in the finance department of a multinational environment.
* Prior knowledge of Oracle accounting packages.
* Experience in the gaming industry and gaming systems.
* Technical knowledge and prior experience of dealing with accounting for acquisition and financing transactions.
