The position of an Electrical Engineer would suit a motivated, practical, and adaptable individual who has the ambition to gain Chartered Engineer status and wishes to work in a progressive and innovative contracting environment. Working under the direct supervision of a Chartered Electrical Engineer, and in conjunction with process and automation engineers the post holder will support the delivery of a range of water treatment projects across the Republic and Northern Ireland and the UK. The design work will include electrical design and planning of water treatment plants. This will involve the following but not limited to: design of circuitry for electrical mains power and sub power circuits, MCC design and testing, Starter selection with VSDs & DOLs to suit various process applications, instrumentation circuitry design and implementation, reviewing of Process Flow Diagrams in conjunction with site layout drawings and building services design and implantation using Amtech electrical & DIAlux design software packages, liaison with equipment vendors, and subcontractor partners across a range of water treatment projects.

Duties
The role of an Electrical Engineer within Murphy Water will require the individual to undertake the following duties:
· Prepare electrical specifications / scope of work for water treatment plant equipment; mains power connections, power generators MCC’s, transformers, motor starters VSDs & DOLs, electric actuators,, instrumentation (Level Pressure, Flow & analytical) electrical network architecture, & electric design schedules, cable schedules, PLC architecture & IO schedules, general service drawings for contracts and tenders.
· Carry out design calculations for cable-sizing, short circuit calculations, lighting calculations, power balance studying / plant load calculations etc using design software such as Amtech software.
· Review of electrical power / instrumentation schematic arrangements.
Prepares sketches and performs engineering calculations.
· Specifications for: instrument schematics, loop and layout drawings.
· Selection, specification and design of process instrumentation and safety instrumented systems.
· Interface with our Controls and Automation Team in the development of Functional Design Specifications.
To know understand & research current rules & regulation for electrical design & installation of electrical systems.
Skills/ Experience
· 0-7 years’ experience working post university.
· Electrical engineering background.
· Power transmission and low voltage distribution systems
· Control & Automation Systems & MCCs.
· VSD, DOLs.
· Knowledge in PLC Networks.
· Industrial Instrumentation.
· Lighting Calculations.
· Building Services Systems.
· AutoCAD.
Qualifications
· Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent a pre-requisite.
· Computer literate and able to work effectively with the basic Microsoft suite of programmes as a minimum
· Good understanding of the electrical design process and ability to demonstrate working knowledge of brief/scope documents, design concepts as well as some experience technically i.e. calculations
