Job Title: Senior Commercial Financial Analyst
The Asset Development Financial Analysis team supports the delivery of ESB's Net Zero by 2040 Strategy through financial analysis and detailed financial modelling for Asset Development's strategic investments.
Asset Development is responsible for delivering a targeted renewable generation capacity of 5,000 MW for ESB by 2030, and a Net Zero electricity generation portfolio by 2040.
Main Responsibilities:
* Manage the financial models for capital investment projects including update and maintenance of the financial models as these projects move through key milestones.
* Prepare scenarios and sensitivity analysis in conjunction with the project team.
* Communicate the results of this analysis and provide insights to support decision making at project and senior management level.
* Support the development and maintenance of a robust standardised financial modelling process for the assessment of new business opportunities and the analysis of performance of existing assets.
* Review and challenge of investment proposals for new and existing projects or business initiatives to ensure a sound commercial basis for undertaking such opportunities.
* Working with project teams to develop and optimise business case models to participate in energy/renewable market auctions.
* Assist business managers in forecasting, validation and update of business financial plans.
Requirements:
* A recognised professional accounting qualification, or other relevant financial qualification.
* Three years of post-qualification experience.
* Strong Excel skills and experience in financial modelling.
* Ability to demonstrate strong analysis and financial modelling skills, good business writing, communications, interpersonal and presentation skills, a commercial mind set with strong analytical and interpersonal skills, strong stakeholder management skills with internal and external stakeholders, including senior and business line managers.

This position will be based in ESB's Head Office, 27 Fitzwilliam St Lower, Dublin 2.

€69,500 - €81,500 depending on experience.
