This role reports to the Business Health and Safety Manager and offers an exceptional opportunity for a passionate individual to develop their career with a leading Irish organisation.
The key goal is to engage and focus the site on health and safety, protecting people and those affected by our activities from harm.
Responsibilities:
* Implement, improve, and enhance the site's safety management system.
* Support and advise managers in ensuring legislative compliance and improving health and safety in the business.
* Conduct regular meetings with plant managers and supervisors.
* Support managers in performing risk assessments and implementing corrective actions and continuous improvements.
* Implement Arrabawn's leading indicator programme, including reporting good saves, completing safety audits and inspections, and conducting safety conversations.
* Ensure all accidents and near misses are fully reported and investigated.
* Review, develop, and implement health and safety procedures, policies, work instructions, checklists, and other documentation as required.
* Identify training needs and manage training records.
* Liaise with external consultants and coordinate training plans and courses.
* Deliver health and safety inductions and training as required.
* Coach employees on positive health and safety practices.
* Carry out emergency plans and fire drills.
* Support the Contractor Management System.
* Prepare health and safety reports for the business.
* Monitor and populate Health and Safety Metrics for the business.
* Attend monthly safety committee meetings and record meeting minutes.
* Coordinate and order Health and Safety materials.
Requirements:
* Relevant third-level certificate qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
* Experience working in a manufacturing or food production company is desirable.
* Thorough knowledge of current health and safety legislation.
* Flexibility in working patterns where necessary.
* Strong computer literacy and experience working with online management systems is preferred.
* Ability to work independently and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Highly organised, motivated, and driven.
* Train the Trainer, Manual Handling, or other Instructor qualifications are desirable but not essential.
