Trainee Accountant We are seeking a Trainee Accountant to join a well-established and highly regarded accounting practice in Cork City.

Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM 5:30 PM Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and companies Support the delivery of auditing and assurance services Prepare and submit tax returns across multiple tax categories (VAT, PAYE, RCT, Income Tax, and Corporation Tax) Assist with company secretarial duties, including CRO filings Engage in client consultations and provide support in meetings Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records Gain experience in specialized areas such as tax planning, R&D tax credits, forensic accounting, pension audits, and corporate finance Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and tax regulations Work closely with senior accountants and contribute to a collaborative team environment What Were Looking For Strong numerical skills with a keen attention to detail Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to take initiative Strong IT proficiency, including familiarity with accounting software Previous experience in an accounting practice or finance-related role (advantageous but not essential) Ambitious and committed to obtaining professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CPA) Benefits Competitive salary with opportunities for salary progression Exposure to a wide range of industries and accounting services Structured training and mentoring from experienced professionals Financial support for professional exams and qualifications Career progression opportunities within the firm A supportive and friendly working environment This role is ideal for a driven and ambitious individual looking to build a long-term career in accounting.
