Legal Counsel - Dublin We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide expert legal support across various business functions, ensuring strategic objectives are met while maximising profitability and return on investment.
This role will primarily cover the Republic of Ireland, with potential involvement in other territories as required.
Responsibilities: Advise senior management on legal matters across corporate, commercial, competition, procurement, compliance, and construction law.
Manage corporate legal issues, including restructuring, entity formation, and regulatory matters such as permits and licenses.
Support the Regional Legal Director in M&A activities, including joint ventures and partnerships.
Draft and implement company policies and procedures.
Liaise with subsidiaries on Parent Company Guarantees (PCGs) and other critical legal matters.
Review, analyse, and negotiate complex or high-value contracts and commercial agreements.
Assess and draft legal terms and conditions for tenders and commercial documents.
Provide specialised legal advice and training to commercial teams.
Engage and coordinate external legal counsel when required.
Oversee compliance with the Group's legal and corporate governance policies, advising senior management on ethical and compliance matters.
Provide in-house legal guidance and risk management support to the business.
Collaborate with the Group Legal Department for specialised legal support in areas such as competition, compliance, and intellectual property.
Assist the Regional Legal Director with head office legal matters.
Keep the business updated on relevant legal developments.
Requirements: Qualified solicitor or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years PQE, ideally with experience in a leading law firm's corporate department.
Previous in-house legal experience is advantageous.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to interpret business performance, financial data, and legal risks.
The ability to work independently and provide clear, strategic legal advice.
A high level of professionalism and credibility to influence key stakeholders.
Experience in the infrastructure sector is preferred.
Knowledge of insurance and procurement law is a plus.
Full driving license and a valid passport.
