Job Summary
We are seeking a National Clinical Health and Disability (NCHD) to join our team at Wexford General Hospital. As an NCHD, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing medical care to patients.
Responsibilities:
* Participate in the provision of medical care to patients as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Diagnose and treat patients under the direction of a Consultant or Clinical Director.
* Ensure patient safety and well-being by undertaking duties and functions in a manner that prioritizes their needs.
* Assess patients on admission and discharge, writing detailed reports in case notes.
* Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
* Initiate and monitor treatment plans.
* Communicate effectively with patients and clients.
* Further develop knowledge of diagnosis and management.
* Participate in clinical audit and proactive risk management.
* Cooperate with measures to ensure compliance with European Working Time Directive and related Irish legislation.
* Participate in investigations, enquiries, or audits relating to healthcare services.
* Comply with statutory and regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and human resource policies.
* Attend induction training before commencing employment and participate in regular performance reviews.
Additonal Responsibilities:
The NCHD may be required to perform additional duties as directed by the supervising Consultant or Clinical Director.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must abide by the Irish Medical Council's 'Guide to Ethical Conduct and Behaviour'.
