WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE
This role will partner with senior stakeholders in the business driving continuous improvement and cost saving initiatives. It will analyse plant performance with a focus on improving that performance.
Key responsibilities:
Business Partnering
Work closely with Managing Director, Finance Director and business leadership to provide operations support on a day-to-day basis
Become the Operations Director’s right hand when it comes to decision making.
Enable and drive decision making through robust financial analysis on capital investment, cost saving and innovation initiatives.
Work close with Group and Foods Finance to ensure clarity on financial performance
Develop strong relations with the FP&A partner and financial accountant to harness any synergies and develop improvements across the function.
Support development of financial awareness of non-finance colleagues
Operations
Work closely with Operations Director to identify Continuous Improvement improvements and cost saving initiatives
Provide detailed financial analysis to support capital investment decisions
Develop and publish KPI reporting to drive improvement in Operations
Drive absolute clarity on Bill of Materials by SKU and manage packing rate changes
Ownership of selected Operations overheads cost centres, to include month end management accounting, commentary and communication with budget holders as required
Analysis and reporting of plant manufacturing performance as well as the subsequent education of how to improve performance going forward.
Work closely with operations to correct stock and MO issues.
Reporting on utilities/facilities
Work alongside both finance and supply chain to eliminate PO issues.
Ownership of ME stock and agreeing intercompany recs
Budgeting and Forecasting
Assist in annual budget process by applying an operations lens with the aim of delivering a clearly articulated and initiative driven business plan
Assist in detailed quarterly forecast (3+9, 6+6 and 9+3) throughout the year
Assist in the preparation of P&Ls for 5 Year strategic plans focusing on capacity and operation excellence
Ad Hoc Work
Provide cover for Finance Director when necessary
Support the wider finance team during pinch points throughout the year
Support miscellaneous project work
Key Requirements and Competencies:
Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) with 0-2 PQE
Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel an advantage
Strong influencing skills
Ability to lead and drive change
Good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
Operationally astute with strong analytical skills
Experience operating as a business partner to non-finance functions
Highly motivated and dynamic
International experience welcome
