Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to oversee critical aspects of purchasing, stock management, and customer interaction within the heavy building materials sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise the procurement and stock control of heavy building materials to ensure optimal inventory levels.
* Liaise with suppliers to negotiate pricing, manage orders, and track timely delivery of goods.
* Handle inquiries, process orders, and prepare quotations to maintain strong customer relationships.
* Work closely with sales representatives to address customer needs, discuss delivery schedules, and ensure satisfaction.
* Manage a small ledger of customer accounts, ensuring accurate billing, timely payments, and account updates.
* Oversee the delivery process, ensuring efficient dispatch and on-time arrivals.
* Maintain accurate transaction records, support senior management with reporting, and ensure system data accuracy.
* Act as the point of contact for both internal teams and external stakeholders, fostering effective communication and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
* 35 years in a supervisory or management role within the construction materials or building supply industry.
* Proficiency in inventory management systems, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), and account management software.
* Strong communication skills and experience in managing customer relations, including quotations and order processing.
* High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Familiarity with heavy building materials, pricing negotiations, and financial reporting.
