ESB Networks will continue to play a leading role in delivering the Government’s Climate Action Plan. Our Networks for Net Zero Strategy commits us to deliver on our part to achieve the targets set out for 2025 and 2030.
As the licenced onshore Transmission Asset Owner (TAO) in Ireland, ESB Networks is responsible for managing and delivering the detailed design construction and maintenance of the transmission network.
ESB Networks strategy for the transmission network builds on the recent success of managing and funding the efficient delivery of €750m of new and upgraded transmission infrastructure in the period 2017-2021.
This involves an investment of €3.5bn to deliver the Transmission Development Plan and the pipeline of projects in collaboration with EirGrid by 2030. Work with EirGrid to both maximise availability of transmission outages and utilise available outage time efficiently to complete the required construction works.
This is an exciting opportunity and challenging role within the Transmission Management Team and the wider Strategy and Asset Management function. It requires an individual that is highly motivated with strong stakeholder and analytical skills and a programme, performance and reporting background who can work well with stakeholders both inside and outside the organisation.
The Transmission team member will be responsible for engaging with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on our transmission outage management obligations and associated reporting across a range of TAO/TSO processes as specifically defined in the Transmission Delivery element of our Networks for Net Zero Strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and build relationships with EirGrid and key internal stakeholders by ensuring a culture of proactive and open communication.
2. Manage the outage programme interface with ESB Networks, E&MP and EirGrid stakeholders to ensure the optimised delivery of the Transmission Outage Programme, including planning, change management, reporting and lessons learnt processes.
3. Collaborate closely with other teams across ESB (e.g. Regulation, Programme, Finance, E&MP, and Regions) to ensure TAO requirements are delivered.
4. Monitor and report on delivery of transmission requirements in PR5 with a particular emphasis on securing incentive income.
5. Develop and manage initiatives for improvements in internal TAO processes and in joint TAO/TSO processes with particular emphasis on the Transmission Outage Programme and capital works delivery.
6. Support and contribute to the Transmission team in developing and leading innovative plans and solutions to improve TAO/TSO collaboration and information exchange to meet the PR5 challenges and emerging needs.

10. Computer literate with good knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Excel
11. Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
12. A demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
