Qualifications and Particulars of Employment
Permanent Part Time Staff Nurse/Enhanced Nurse, St. Patrick’s Gardens, Dun Aoibhinn Services
1. Tenure of Employment
This post is Permanent Part Time. Compulsory Retirement age is 70 years.
2. Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate must:
1. Have two years post registration experience (desirable).
2. Have a recognised qualification in nursing (RNID desirable) and be currently registered in an appropriate division of the Register of An Bord Altranais.
3. Have excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
4. Have the ability to listen and respond to the needs of people who use services.
5. Have the ability to be innovative and creative and work on one’s own initiative.
6. Have an up to date knowledge of current thinking and practice in services for people with intellectual disabilities.
7. Be computer literate.
8. Possess a full clean driving licence.
9. Recognise the equal rights of persons with intellectual disabilities in society and uphold and respect those rights.
10. Experience of working as a member of a team is essential.
3. Remuneration
Salary Scale: (pro rata)
Staff Nurse: €35,068 to €52,790 LSI
Enhanced Nurse: €41,952 to €54,499 LSI
4. Working Hours
The normal working fortnight will be flexible hours involving days, evenings, weekends, nights and sleepovers.
5. Health
The successful candidate must be free from any condition that would render him/her unsuitable to hold the appointment and must undergo a medical examination.
6. Duties
The general duties of the appointment are as described in the attached Job Description.
7. Selection Process
A shortlist of candidates will be prepared by the Selection Board.
8. Mandatory Training
The Team Leader/Services Manager will notify the successful candidate of the mandatory training required.
9. Note on Canvassing
Any attempt to canvass or influence any member of staff will disqualify the candidate.
*A panel may be formed for Permanent and Temporary Part Time vacancies for the South Tipperary Services for a period of 6 months.
