Main Purpose of Role:
Owing to continued growth in our Power Division, Murphy Electrical Services have a requirement for an Electrical Quantity Surveyor/Estimator who will be responsible for all commercial functions from work winning through to commercial administration of electrically biased projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Pricing tenders and compiling BOQ's on a range of Electrical projects including Renewables (Solar, wind, BESS), Water & wastewater, Natural gas, Public Lighting, Building Services, EV charging projects, and Electrical and Instrumentation.
* Commercial administration of electrical projects once secured, including establishment of project folders, budgeting, applications for payments, valuation of variations and additional items of work, tracking and reporting on costs, and providing commercial and contractual guidance as part of the delivery team.
* Ensuring each tender is completed consistently and in line with company procedure, gaining knowledge of actual installation time, and reviewing projects after completion to evaluate where actual is not in line with budgeted.
* Assisting with the production of accurate and timely estimates and participating in the estimating team to successfully achieve the business unit's revenue plan.
* Liaising with other employees within the company to identify, share, and implement best practice, preparing each tender in a consistently structured and accurate format, and producing accurate take off / measures of tenders and subsequent inputting into estimating software.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Degree qualified Quantity Surveyor or Engineer with experience in estimating/pricing work in the Electrical Services Industry.
* Familiarity with estimating software such as Candy would be an advantage.
