Senior Category Manager (Category and Insights)
My client is one of Ireland's leading Retail/FMCG organisations (a global company with an established name). Due to a promotion, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Category Manager to join the team. For a professional Insights/Category Manager with 6-10 years’ experience, working for a supplier/Retailer or for a leading Research agency, this is a must for consideration.
* The people in the Business: You will get exposure to all areas of the business (including presenting to the Leadership Team). This is a hybrid role with a vibrant, genuine atmosphere; a collaborative approach and the ability to ‘get buy-in’/influence is critical to success.
* Autonomy within the role and potential for career progression: You must be comfortable with autonomy and will be expected to put your own stamp on the position. People regularly get promoted within the business, moving across various teams/functions within the group.
* Success of the Irish Business and the Hiring Manager: The Irish Business has come off its best year yet and is highly regarded by the overall group. The Hiring Manager, Susan, is focused on insights and passionate about the customer. She has been with the business for over 10 years, moving up within the business, and her reputation makes this opportunity very attractive.
Susan has been successful in the role and said the following: “Yes, this role will report to me, but I am really looking for someone who I can partner with. There are several stakeholders, but the team that this person will manage are fantastic. They are an engaged and positive team. In this role, no two days will be the same, and this role will focus on bringing the data to life. The successful candidate must be comfortable operating in the grey; with the number of categories that we have, you cannot be an expert on all! Hence, team management experience is important. You will get to work closely with the CEO and Commercial Director, and the diversity and exposure mean that you will never be bored! We have just come off the back of a fantastic year, and there are exciting plans for the upcoming year ahead.”
