Job Description
Chief Field Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Chief Field Engineer to join our team on a large scale Pharmaceutical Construction project in Westmeath.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and health of all persons working on or visiting the site, as well as coordinating with contractors to ensure they complete their contracts in terms of safety, quality, schedule, cost, and documentation.
This role requires strong communication and reporting skills, as well as experience in life science, mission critical, or similarly complex projects. A degree education or exceptionally strong trades background is also required.
Responsibilities:
* Safety & Health: Ensure the safety and health of all persons working on or visiting the site, actively promote compliance with the Construction Safety & Health Plan and Environmental Management plans, intervene directly if any unsafe situations or practices are observed, interact with and coach the workforce in the application of best safety practices.
* Scope: Be fully familiar with the contract scope, technical documentation package, contract price details, and fabrication/supply/construction programme.
* Coordination: Monitor the day-to-day site activities of the Contractors, ensure they complete their contracts in terms of safety, quality, schedule, cost, and documentation, participate in weekly Safety/Co-ordination meetings, run and minute the contractor weekly meeting, review and reply where necessary to contractor weekly reports.
* Quality: Monitor the implementation of the Contractors' Quality plan, carries out daily inspections of the works to ensure the required standards are achieved, witnesses any tests or inspections required under the Inspection and Test Plan, track and reviews all contractors' technical RFI's, submittals, purchases etc and refers to QA/QC manager or Field Engineering team for input / resolution / approvals.
* Commercial: Be familiar with the contents of the contract, pricing agreement, and scope of work, advises Construction Superintendent and Contracts Manager in relation to any field variations, scope changes or potential additional costs.
Requirements:
* Degree educated or exceptionally strong trades background.
* Excellent communication and reporting skills.
* Life Science, Mission Critical or similarly complex project experience.
* At least 15 years construction and/or mechanical experience.
* At least ten years' site experience.
* Previous PM Group experience desirable.

Salary:
$120,000 - $150,000 per annum.
