Civil/Structural Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team-based organisation in Limerick. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working in a manufacturing plant or construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with project teams to agree civil and structural design brief and schedule.
* Prepare concept designs, risk assessments, and develop budget estimates for new and existing structures.
* Respond to plant requests for technical support, including structural repairs, strengthening, and/or retrofitting projects.
* Carry out structural inspections and review existing reports to aid technical designs associated with repair and/or replacement of structures.
* Develop structural design solutions, details, and general arrangement drawings for tender and construction works.
* Enlist E/I, Control, or Mechanical engineering support where required.
* Specify and procure materials for the project as needed.
* Prepare detailed scopes of work and preliminary health and safety plans to implement the project.
* Liaise with PSCS and contractors during construction to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective implementation of structural scopes.
* Report regularly on project status, schedule, and budget.
Requirements:
* Degree-qualified Structural engineer with technically sound knowledge and understanding of structure.
* Capable of working on own initiative.
* Excellent communicator and problem-solving skills essential.
* Minimum 5 years experience working as a structural design engineer, capable of examining structures and generating practical solutions to expedite installations.
* Desirable experience: industrial steel building structures, industrial process structures (e.g. steel structures, pipe racks, etc).
