Main Duties and Responsibilities
This role is based at a High Security Laboratory Campus and will include the following:
1. To provide cleaning services on client sites as required in line with client and company procedures, ensuring that all relevant procedures are adhered to at all times.
2. To carry out regular cleaning of laboratories, offices, meeting rooms, toilets and reception areas.
3. Polish glass and metalwork around the campus where needed.
4. To react, respond to and address ad-hoc cleaning requests from the Helpdesk, managers or client.
5. Take responsibility for the safe use of all cleaning materials and equipment used in the course of your duties.
6. To work in a safe manner for the benefit of oneself and other occupants of the building.
7. Display appropriate signage to ensure that occupants of the building are aware on any circumstances that may affect their health and safety whilst cleaning operations are taking place.
8. Report defects, deficiencies or health and safety related issues to the supervisor with minimum delay.
9. Remain security conscious and report any suspicious incidents or observations to the supervisor with minimum delay.
10. Undertake job related training as and when required.
11. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the post as may be reasonably required.
12. Be able to work as part of a cleaning team.
13. Be able to provide excellent customer service skills, partnership approach, facilities expert, professional demeanour, effective solutions.
14. Show commitment to excellence, assume responsibility.
15. To carry out duties in accordance with the site procedures and SOPs.
16. To work according to the assigned cleaning roster that will change as required.
17. To be flexible to support and relieve at other sites related to the Campus.
18. To be flexible to adapt to the evolving needs of the Campus, our Clients and the Company.The campus is continuously changing and expanding and the Facilities Management team, including Security, need to be flexible to evolve with the needs of the site.
19. To support the wider Facilities Management Team on Campus as the need arises.
Qualifications and Experience
20. Experience working in the Cleaning Industry.
21. Experienced in the use of cleaning equipment.
22. Good Work Record.
23. Flexible Honest and Reliable.
24. Well organised and capable of prioritising own work.
25. Experience cleaning in a Laboratory / Pharma environment is desirable.
26. BICS Trained qualification is advantageous.
Person Specification
27. Have worked in a corporate environment and experienced in dealing with the public.
28. Good oral & written communication skills and customer service skills.
29. Good Spoken and Written English.
30. Ability to cope well under pressure.
31. Ability to work on their own.
32. Ability to exercise initiative and prioritise duties accordingly.
33. Ability to work to a high standard against agreed timescales with limited supervision.
34. Ability to work in a truly customer focused manner and to actively respond appropriately to customer feedback.
35. The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced Garda security vetting and other background checks.
36. Ability to meet and exceed, where possible, the targets set by management.
37. Ability to think logically about issues and problems which arise during day-to-day working.
38. To work and plan in a pro-active manner so as to minimise disruption to client’s operations.
39. Present a professional and personable manner to colleagues and the public at all times.
