Job Description
The opportunity Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity as a Project Manager to support the Power Grids Grid Integration Business you'll be reporting to the Operational Unit Manager and responsible for projects to ensure the works comply with Hitachi Energy and customer's standards, procedures, and policies.
Responsibilities:
1. Project Responsibility: Define main guidelines, allocate project tasks, and motivate and monitor internal and external resources to accomplish all tasks and milestones.
2. Provide performance feedback regarding project progress.
3. Planning and Scheduling: Define all project plan documents, including scope and financial plans, schedule, and risk management plans, jointly with the Project Controls department.
4. Project Execution and Control: Ensure the project follows execution best practices and Hitachi Energy Ireland policies.
5. Monitor and control project progress and resource utilization.
6. Oversee project financials, including invoicing status, cost, expenses, and cash flow.
7. Identify, qualify, quantify, and manage project risks, ensuring all opportunities are identified and pursued.
8. Capture, analyze, and share lessons learned throughout the project.
9. Ensure the project is formally closed out as contractually agreed, driving formal acceptance and contract close-out acknowledgment by the customer.
10. Contract, Claims, and Procurement Management: Consistently apply contract and claims management in accordance with Hitachi Energy Ireland policies and contractual agreements.
11. Coordinate with Supply Chain Management to procure required services, materials, and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers.
12. Support Supply Chain Management in supplier negotiations, claims, and project changes.
13. Stakeholder Relations: Act as the key contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues.
14. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
15. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Ensure the project follows and complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
* Minimum of 7+ years of experience in project management, preferably in the energy sector.
* Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex projects.
* Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures.
