Overview
Technical Compliance and Intake Coordinator Lir Chocolates, Navan, County Meath, Ireland We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Technical Compliance and Intake Co-Ordinator to ensure food products and packaging meet quality and compliance standards through sampling, physical testing, and laboratory analysis. Key responsibilities include verifying supplier documentation, managing test results, supporting audits, and overseeing raw material surveillance. Position type: Full-Time, PermanentHours: 37.5Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 16:30Pay range: €32,000 - €35,000 /annum (Depending on experience)Breaks: 30 minutes
Responsibilities
Perform sampling, physical, and laboratory tests on food products and packaging to ensure full compliance with standards.Review and verify supplier documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency.Oversee intake inspections and coordinate timely testing of incoming deliveries.Maintain detailed records within company systems.Submit, review, and document external test results, escalating any issues as needed.Release food products and packaging for production use, following proper protocols.Request, verify, and manage supplier certifications, addressing any non-conformances.Conduct internal audits and assist with third-party and customer audits as required.Organise and participate in daily taste panels to ensure product quality.Ensure proper labeling and segregation of raw materials in the warehouse.Manage the raw material surveillance testing program and collaborate with laboratories to address out-of-specification results.Work closely with suppliers and transport teams to maintain site compliance and requirements.Identify cost-saving opportunities in testing processes and proactively address issues to reduce rejected deliveries.Address queries from the wider business regarding intake inspections and technical specifications.Resolve discrepancies in data related to intake inspections, supplier details, and internal specifications.Assist with sample requests, additional testing, and artwork approvals as needed.Support traceability initiatives, handle customer complaints, and contribute to both internal and external audits.Travel to 3rd party Warehouse as needed to collect packaging and raw material samples for analysis.Analyse test results, ensuring any necessary rechecks or retests are performed promptly.
Qualifications
Food Science qualification or equivalent (Essential)Working knowledge of Food Microbiology (Desirable)HACCP Training (Desirable)Internal auditor training (Desirable)Knowledge of food manufacturing compliance and BRC/ Customer requirements (Desirable)Computer literate, excellent oral and written English communication skills.
