CPU Post Silicon & Power Engineer (CPUSS Architecture and Performance)
We are working with a world-leading technology company based in Cork that is looking to expand its Post-Silicon engineering group by hiring a Power and Performance Engineer with a focus on CPUs.
Your Impact:
* Define and execute comprehensive performance and power analysis plans for intricate CPU subsystems.
* Proactively debug issues across all silicon development stages, from pre-silicon to production.
* Develop and champion optimization strategies to achieve best-in-class CPU workload performance.
* Collaborate closely with diverse engineering teams to ensure timely and optimized performance delivery.
* Evaluate IP performance on new silicon and analyze critical CPU workloads.
* Contribute to next-generation CPU architecture and product definitions based on silicon insights.
* Advance our capabilities in CPU and system performance and power validation through innovative tools and methodologies.
What You'll Bring:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
* 5-10+ years of hands-on experience in post-silicon performance and power analysis of SoCs.
* Proficiency in programming/scripting (C/C++, Python).
* Strong analytical skills for test plan development and debugging.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* Self-motivated with a proven ability to drive tasks independently.
* Leadership and mentoring skills are a plus.
* Solid understanding of CPU architecture, memory hierarchy, and system interconnects.
* Familiarity with ARM v8 and v9 specifications.
* Strong grasp of ARM SoC concepts (SMMU, GIC, Coresight-PMU, Timers).
* Extensive experience with industry-standard CPU workloads, benchmarking, performance analysis tools, power analysis methods, power management, and lab equipment.
* Knowledge of computer hardware and architecture (datacenter server experience is a bonus).
