Overview
The Strategic Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and driving new business opportunities through four main functions; ensure effective relationship management of existing clients, seek and onboard new clients and new business, facilitate/attend networking events and coordinate communications around key projects. The Strategic Business Development Manager is responsible for generating new business opportunities in their territory actively targeting end-users, project managers, quantity surveyors and other professional consultants. The SBDM is responsible for educating their target audience on the products and services that Humanscale offer.
Responsibilities
1. Educating, marketing, and selling the value of ergonomic workplace solutions to end-users, partners, project managers, quantity surveyors and other professional consultants such as ergonomists, occupational health, H+S
2. Always maintain appropriate networking activity levels; minimum 10 high level client appointments per week.
3. Develop a business plan with management for weekly, monthly, and quarterly strategic objectives.
4. Facilitate networking activities, events, introductory meetings for prospective clients.
5. Identify and present relevant differentiators, added value components and unique opportunities for successful project positioning of Humanscale.
6. Seek out, comprehend, and effectively communicate key client motivating factors, the key triggers that cause them to choose Humanscale over our competitors.
7. Sit on industry boards, panels, discussion groups to increase brand awareness.
8. Resource Utilization to position Humanscale from CEO, MD, SD, Sustainability Ambassadors through to Product Managers.
9. Represent Humanscale at professional networking events; CoreNet, BCO, Workplace Trends.
10. Complete networking activity & new business reports, as well as maintaining customer contact database.
11. Organise and execute high level networking events to raise the profile and awareness of Humanscale as the market leaders.
12. Coordinate the activity around all your key projects and ensure that communication and collaboration is maintained amongst the sales team.
13. Facilitate and lead strategic regular planned new business meetings amongst the sales team.
14. Identify and develop new and existing high-level relationships within your target audience.
15. Have a strong understanding of all Humanscale’s products and consulting services.
16. Resource utilization to position Humanscale: Product Managers, Consulting, Marketing and all Sales.
Qualifications
17. Candidate will have 5+ years business sales experience – successfully selling to large corporate clients
18. Bachelor's degree or equivalent sales experience preferred
19. Successful track record of planning and execution
20. Working knowledge of MS OFFICE and associated applications are required
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
21. Knowledge and/or experience in office furniture or related industry, a plus
22. Excellent written and verbal
23. Skillful negotiation and presentation abilities
24. Aggressive follow-up and closing skills
