Job Summary
Counsellors will be part of a team delivering counselling services to children on a sessional basis in various locations. The role involves providing blocks of eight counselling sessions per referral.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain adherence to the Code of Ethics of their relevant accrediting body.
* Attend professional supervision while providing counselling as part of this programme.
* Earn consent and complete the referral form with signatures from parents.
* Conduct initial assessments to gather information as necessary.
* Prepare and issue summary reports summarising interventions and strategies.
* Maintain professionalism in all interactions.
* Engage in robust data protection to ensure sensitive information remains confidential and secure.
* PARTicipate in quality assurance exercises and support the evaluation process as required.
Requirements
* Hold a Level 7 qualification (primary degree) or higher in a human science, along with an accredited counselling or psychotherapy qualification.
* The qualification must be recognised by one of the following bodies: Psychological Society of Ireland; Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy; Irish Association for Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy; or the Irish Council for Psychotherapy.
* Have at least 2 years of supervised experience providing counselling for children, OR
* Hold a professional accredited qualification in child and adolescent counselling and 1 year of supervised experience providing counselling for children.
* Complete an introduction to the Childrens First e-learning programme.
* Hold valid professional indemnity insurance.
* Operate as a limited company.
