Our team is expanding, and we’re currently seeking a dedicated Yard Operative to support the smooth running of our yard. Job Description:
As a Yard Operative, you will play a key role in maintaining our yard area, managing equipment, and supporting our team in daily operations. From loading and unloading machinery to ensuring equipment is clean and in good working order, you’ll be essential in keeping our yard organised and ready for business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Equipment Management: Load, unload, and move plant equipment and materials within the yard safely and efficiently.
* Stock Organisation: Maintain an orderly yard by organising equipment, tools, and materials, making sure everything is correctly stored and accessible.
* Customer Support: Assist customers and drivers with loading/unloading as needed, providing a friendly and professional service.
* Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all yard operations, keeping the yard clean, safe, and hazard-free.
* General Yard Duties: Assist with other yard and maintenance tasks as needed, supporting the wider team.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience in a similar role, ideally within plant hire, construction, or a related industry.
* Forklift Licence is preferred.
* Physical Fitness as this role requires regular heavy lifting and manual work.
* Strong work ethic and reliability; able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Commitment to Health & Safety, following all protocols to maintain a safe yard environment.
* Customer Service as this role consists of customer interactions on a day-to-day basis.
