A Business Development Manager is required to identify business opportunities, build key customer relationships, and drive revenue growth for a leading company providing fulfillment and managed VAT services for online retailers selling in Europe.
This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, strong business acumen, and a passion for exceeding targets.
Main Responsibilities:
* Lead Generation and Revenue Growth: Identify potential clients, partners, and stakeholders through networking, cold calling, and other outreach methods.
* Effectively manage leads and schedule demos/meetings with qualifying potential merchants.
* Assess all leads potential for business collaboration converting suitable leads into viable business sales.
* Strategic Planning: Develop strategic plans to penetrate new markets and expand existing ones.
* Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve or exceed sales targets.
* Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and market trends.
* Analyse data to understand customer needs, preferences, and competitive landscape.
* Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, clients, partners, and industry influencers.
* Negotiate contracts, agreements, and partnerships to drive business growth.
* Sales Support: Collaborate with the rest of the sales teams to develop proposals, presentations, and pitches.
* Provide support and guidance to other sales representatives to meet revenue targets.
* Product or Service Development: Gather feedback from clients and market trends to inform product or service enhancements.
* Work closely with different teams to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
* Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track and analyse key performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of business development initiatives.
* Prepare regular reports and presentations for management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities.
Requirements:
* Experience in a similar role for a minimum of 5 years
* Degree in marketing, business or related field/qualifications
* Knowledge of CRM software and MS Office
* Demonstrated ability in business-to-business (B2 B) sales
* Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
* Understanding of Ecommerce, brands and online retail
* Experience speaking with and presenting to customers
* Experience working to sales targets, KPIs and projections
* Understanding of market and marketing strategies
* Experience setting targets and KPIs
