Senior Compliance Officer wanted for Global Insurance Group-Dublin City Centre
Abrivia are currently recruiting for a Senior Compliance Officer to join our client, a Global Insurance Group, based in Dublin City Centre. This role will report directly into the Compliance Manager and will form part of a Compliance team of 5 and play a role within the wider Risk & Compliance function of 15.
The ideal candidate will have experience within Insurance or Financial Services with strong exposure to dealing with the CBI or relevant regulatory body.
This role is 2 days in the office and offers an excellent package including bonus, healthcare, pension, and 27 days leave.
Your Role:
1. Tasked with providing counsel within the company on all pertinent legislation and Group/Company policies to ensure compliance.
2. Assist the Head of Compliance and Compliance Manager in handling regulatory inquiries from relevant authorities, ensuring prompt and appropriate responses.
3. Facilitate the development of a positive rapport with regulatory bodies.
4. Offer guidance to various departments as needed, interpreting compliance obligations to support the creation of new products, marketing materials, literature, systems, etc.
5. Advise on the review, modification, and implementation of suitable Group/Company policies.
6. Mentor members of the Compliance team on technical aspects related to relevant legislation and Group/Company policies.
7. Foster a collaborative relationship with Group Compliance.
8. Take an active role in driving projects related to the integration of new compliance requirements, focusing on regulatory mandates and Codes of Practice.
9. Provide regular progress updates in written form to the Compliance Manager, Head of Compliance, and/or Audit Committee.
Your Skills:
10. A minimum of five years’ experience as a technical expert in a compliance/legal setting, preferably within the insurance/financial sector and involving interaction with regulatory bodies.
11. Demonstrated excellent understanding of all relevant regulatory requirements, encompassing the Consumer Protection Code, Minimum Competency Code, relevant general legislation, and any other regulations issued by governing bodies such as the Central Bank of Ireland or the FCA.
12. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
13. Strong interpersonal skills, particularly adept at influencing and challenging individuals at various levels within the organisation to effect compliance-related behavioural changes and achieve key compliance objectives across the company.
14. Proficient in PC skills, including the use of spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software.
15. Possess strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a pragmatic and logical approach to decision-making.
