Financial Controller Our client is currently in search of an experienced Hotel Financial Controller to join their team at a prominent property in Cork City Centre.
Reporting to the Group FD, you will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the hotel, collaborating closely with colleagues to ensure timely management and financial reporting.
Your responsibilities will include: Implementing the highest standards of accuracy and integrity.
Generating precise reports, including revenue forecasts, cost analyses, profitability assessments, P&L accounts, and budget packs.
Monitoring revenue billing and cash control for accuracy.
Establishing efficient control systems for forecasting and managing expenditure, including payroll and gross margins.
Reporting and reconciling daily revenue, providing daily management information from the PMS.
Handling purchase orders and invoices, accurately coding them to nominal codes and adhering to the company's financial policies.
Addressing supplier queries and reconciling supplier statements.
Managing payroll processing, BACS payments, and monthly PAYE reconciliation.
Reporting payroll costs by department and inputting data into the nominal ledger.
Enforcing credit control measures to collect debts in accordance with company policy.
Ensuring accurate reporting of all revenue and costs in the nominal ledger.
Preparing prepayment and accrual journals.
Reconciling cash and bank accounts.
Delivering periodic presentations at meetings.
Preparing monthly management accounts in line with company financial policies.
Supervising beverage stocktakes, liaising with HODs regarding departmental P&Ls and gross profit percentages.
Reconciling all balance sheet accounts monthly and taking necessary actions.
Submitting quarterly VAT returns through Sage 50 (MTD).
Implementing and supporting property operating policies and procedures.
Coordinating all financial audits.
Requirements: Proven experience as a Hotel Financial Controller or Hotel Accountant with several years of experience.
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent.
Confident, articulate, and communicative, with excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong process orientation with a positive attitude towards change.
Ability to coach and manage team members effectively.
Organized, systematic, and deadline-driven.
Analytical and detail-oriented.
Proficient in Excel and computer systems, with experience in Sage Line 50 considered advantageous.
