Role Overview:
As a Cloud Operations Engineer, you will play a key role in the deployment, maintenance, and support of applications in cloud environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance for enterprise clients. You will be responsible for deploying, managing, and supporting KX applications in cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP). You will ensure system reliability, monitor infrastructure performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize cloud deployments.
Kubernetes expertise is essential for this role, as you will be managing containerized applications in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deploy, configure, and maintain KX applications in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Manage and operate Kubernetes clusters for containerized applications in production environments.
Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
Implement CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and optimize infrastructure for scalability and efficiency.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of cloud-based applications.
Implement security best practices for cloud-based applications, including IAM, encryption, and compliance standards.
Work with development, DevOps, and support teams to optimize cloud operations and improve deployment processes.
Support incident response and troubleshooting, ensuring rapid resolution of production issues.
Maintain logs, alerts, and monitoring systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) to track system health and performance.
Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and enterprise clients on cloud-related issues.
On-call and weekend work will be required to support critical incidents, system maintenance, or client needs outside regular business hours.
Required Skills & Experience:
We encourage applications from candidates with varying levels of experience, with responsibilities adjusted accordingly.
For Mid-Level Candidates:
3+ years of experience in cloud operations, DevOps, or infrastructure support.
Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Strong troubleshooting and scripting skills (Bash, Python, or PowerShell).
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK, CloudWatch).
For Senior Candidates:
5+ years of experience in cloud operations, site reliability, or DevOps roles.
Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes, container orchestration, and Helm.
Designing, building, and maintaining OpenShift, OKD, and Kubernetes (K8s) clusters in production environments.
Strong background in infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
Expertise in networking infrastructure, including VPCs, load balancers, firewalls, DNS, VPNs, and ingress controllers for cloud and Kubernetes environments.
Experience in incident management and performance optimization for cloud environments.
Preferred Qualifications (for all levels):
Knowledge of networking, security policies, and cloud governance.
Familiarity with ITIL processes and service management best practices.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
