About the Role:
To support the Track Section Manager by carrying out asset condition assessments of all track componentry within the Permanent Way.
This role will be responsible for the collection of critical data through detailed survey of track assets, scoring the data using standardised condition-based rules, collecting track defects and prioritising against established timeframes.
The role will use current and future technologies to support the Department as an asset owner, providing the information to inform strategic planning for the maintenance and renewal of assets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Applying health, safety and environmental legislation requirements
* Interpreting and working to engineering standards
* Asset condition inspection, workload prioritisation and technical specification
* Digital technology to collect asset data
* Defect classification and condition scoring of assets
* Use of Microsoft software or similar
* Managing teams to deliver specific business objectives
* Fully utilising skills and knowledge in a dynamic environment
Requirements:
* Experience of applying health, safety and environmental legislation requirements
* Experience of interpreting and working to engineering standards
* Experience in asset condition inspection, workload prioritisation and technical specification
* Possess a minimum of a Degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering, construction, or asset management discipline with at least 3 years experience in Permanent Way asset data collection, classification or defects, & condition reporting OR A minimum of a level 4 Qualification in a relevant subject with at least 5 years experience in Permanent Way asset data collection, classification of defects, & condition reporting
* Experience in using Digital technology to collect asset data
* Experience of defect classification and condition scoring of assets
* Experience of the use of Microsoft software or similar
* Experience of managing teams to deliver specific business objectives
* Fully driving license and access to a vehicle
