Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Café Manager to join our busy café, Eden at The Orchard which is open daytime hours, 7 days a week. As Café Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth daily operation of the café, delivering excellent customer service, managing staff, and maintaining high standards in food quality and hygiene. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, have a passion for food and the hospitality industry, demonstrating strong leadership skills.
Job Title: Cafe Manager - Daytime
Cafe Location: The Eden Cafe at the Orchard, Celbridge, Ireland
Hours: Full-time, 5/7
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and support the café team, ensuring efficient operation during service hours.
2. Customer Service: Maintain a welcoming atmosphere by providing the best customer experience.
3. Operational Management: Liaising with our Operations Manager in supporting day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures, ensuring all areas of the café are ready for service.
4. Training & Development: Train and mentor new staff, ensuring all team members are knowledgeable about products, health and safety regulations, and service standards.
5. Quality Control: Ensure the quality and presentation of food and drinks meet the café’s standards and are in line with health and safety regulations.
6. Health & Safety: Maintain a clean and safe environment, ensuring compliance with all food hygiene and safety regulations (HACCP).
7. Cash Handling & Till Operations: Ensure correct use of the till and payment systems.
8. Problem Solving: Address operational issues as they arise, ensuring any disruptions to service are managed effectively.
Requirements:
1. Experience: 2+ years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, ideally in a café or casual dining setting.
2. Barista Skills: Would be preferred.
3. Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a busy environment.
4. Customer Focus: Strong customer service skills with a passion for delivering a high-quality guest experience.
5. Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
6. Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workload, and work efficiently under pressure.
7. Problem-Solving: Strong decision-making skills and the ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
8. HACCP: Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards is essential.
