About the Role Newstalk is looking to recruit a Digital Content Creator who is passionate about social media, analytics, current affairs, and multimedia to join the Newstalk digital team.
This is an exciting role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced content creation environment.
The Digital Content Creator will update and develop content strategies for Newstalk's social media channels – using up-to-the-minute knowledge of platform trends to deliver Newstalk's output to our audience.
They will also produce video content, graphics and other digital content for platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok, as well as Newstalk's own website and app.
We are looking for someone with a great eye for a story, attention-to-detail and who will create and publish engaging, quick-turnaround content daily.
This role will include spotting and editing video opportunities from our studio footage and pitching and producing highly engaging original content ideas related to Newstalk's top stories of the day, breaking news and other strategic content, with a view to increasing listenership, brand awareness and showcasing our presenters' and brand's personalities.
What you'll do: Reporting to the Digital Editor, you will update and develop content strategies for Newstalk's social media channels and provide feedback on analytics across the board on trends in our online content and audience – including KPIs, reports and monitoring.You will create highly engaging content for YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and more, daily, including video, graphics, live-streaming and photos using mobile video production techniques.Post to social media and keep up to date with all social media and digital best practice, including algorithm changes, content optimisation and social media advertising.Filming on-location as required.You will work on both short and long-term projects, as well as station-wide content initiatives.Attending editorials and working closely with show teams and journalists to produce content that is both editorially sound and representative of Newstalk's wider editorial output.Work with the Newstalk Commercial Programming team to produce content for clients.If the following traits sound like you, you might be the right person for the job: You have an analytical understanding of social media and digital landscape.You are passionate about social media platforms and what they can deliver.You have working experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (Premier Pro, Photoshop etc.
