ROLE SUMMARY: As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for managing key areas of the finance function, including payroll management, cost control, tax compliance, reconciliations, and business analytics. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations across multiple jurisdictions. This position is ideal for someone who is part-qualified or nearing completion of their ACCA and seeks to develop their practical experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will be expected to work with both internal teams and external partners to maintain high standards of financial reporting and contribute to the continued success of the finance team.
KEY FUNCTIONS & RESULTS AREAS (KEY ACTIVITIES):
1. Payroll & Expense Management
Oversee multi-jurisdiction payroll processes, ensuring timely and accurate payroll submissions.
Review credit card spend and staff expenses to ensure compliance with company policies.
Monitor and control overhead costs, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
2. Tax & Compliance
Ensure timely and accurate VAT and tax compliance and filing across different jurisdictions.
Maintain awareness of evolving tax regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
3. Financial Reporting & Reconciliation
Manage fixed asset registers, ensuring proper classification and depreciation calculations.
Perform nominal ledger reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in financial records.
Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts to support financial planning.
4. Payment Processing & Controls
Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
5. Business Analytics & Insights
Provide financial analysis and business insights to support decision-making.
Identify trends and provide recommendations for operational and financial efficiencies.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
1. Part-qualified or nearly completed ACCA qualification (or equivalent).
2. Strong experience in financial accounting, payroll, and cost control.
3. Familiarity with multi-jurisdiction tax and VAT compliance.
4. Experience with nominal ledger reconciliation and fixed asset management.
5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
6. Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
7. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
8. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
