Finance Manager for CFS Sligo
Abbott has a significant presence in Ireland, with a diverse range of healthcare products and over 6,000 employees across ten sites. We have been operating in Ireland since 1946.
The Finance Manager for CFS Sligo will be responsible for coordinating and supporting complex tax activities and statutory reporting functions. This role will involve VAT, transfer pricing, corporation tax, maintaining tax risk registers, billing of support services, external and internal audit support, and liaising closely with CFS EMEA Shared Services Hub.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure delivery of strategic projects and execution of Revenue Cooperative Compliance Framework (CCF) requirements.
* Ensure robust risk registers are in place for all tax heads, with regular monitoring to ensure completeness.
* Coordinate self-reviews of tax head compliance across all Abbott Ireland sites, identifying and implementing process improvements where required.
* Responsible for VAT compliance, ensuring an effective and efficient framework is in place.
* Ensure delivery of statutory accounts in support of corporate, country/legal entity timelines.
* Build relationships and interact with site stakeholders to provide support, technical expertise, and guidance.
* Responsible for ensuring on-time completion and submission of statutory/regulatory returns for entities in scope, including CSO, Secretarial, and Revenue VAT, VIES/Intrastat, and returns.
* Liaise with Internal and External Auditors as required.
* Establish a culture of continuous improvement within the team, and liaise with CFS EMEA hub to identify and implement end-to-end process improvement opportunities.
* Develop new and streamline existing processes and systems to ensure efficient delivery of value-add information to both internal and external stakeholders.
* Ensure the internal control environment operates as intended, and implement improvements in a timely fashion.
* Prepare and analyze cost information for presentation to and review by key stakeholders.
* Responsible for the performance management and development of the team, ensuring SMART goals are set and team members receive relevant and timely feedback.
* Lead the team to perform ad-hoc and special projects assignments as required.
Key Requirements:
* Qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
* Tax Qualification – AITI or equivalent desirable.
* BS degree in Accounting or Finance desirable.
* 5+ years of relevant experience in a complex global environment, preferably within a multi-currency, US GAAP-based financial close.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills essential.
* SAP or other major ERP Systems experience desirable.
* Hands-on and self-starter mentality.
* Able to manage responsibilities independently.
* Excellent financial analysis skills with the ability to summarize data into high-quality summaries.
* Strong computer skills, especially MS Office & PowerBI.
* Fluent in English essential.
