Job Title: Clinical Lecturer - Clinical Microbiology (Medically Qualified)

Location: Beaumont Hospital
Contract: 12 months, renewable, full time

Objective:
The principal objective of the post is to participate in the development, direction, teaching, facilitation and examinations of the undergraduate teaching programme.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
* Delivery, assessment and ongoing improvement of small group simulation teaching in clinical microbiology
* Delivery and assessment of clinical microbiology teaching in the School of Medicine
* Participation in curriculum development including case development and spiraling of clinical microbiology materials throughout the undergraduate medicine programme in the School of Medicine.
* Providing resources and communication with student groups via the RCSI virtual learning environment
* Ensuring that all Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland policies and procedures are adhered to.
Candidate Specification:
* Essential
o Be medically qualified
o Possess evidence of registration with the Irish Medical Council
o Possess MRCPI or equivilant
o Possess a keen interest in lecturing and interacting with undergraduate students
o Possess excellent communication skills
* Desirable
o Previous experience in clinical microbiology
o Previous experience using E-learning/VLE systems
o Previous experience of teaching and assessing students in an academic environment
o Previous experience in research
