Job Description
The Clinical Research Nurse position is a unique opportunity to work in the Galway City area, collaborating with a highly qualified team under the direction of the CRFG Principal Investigator (PI).
Purpose of the Post
The purpose of this role is to ensure compliance with clinical research studies within the HRB-CRFG, adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs), applicable regulations, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) principles.
Key Responsibilities:
* Adhere to CRFG SOPs for clinical research projects and nursing procedures within the CRFG and hospital.
* Plan and conduct clinical research activities, ensuring smooth operation of each study in compliance with the study protocol, GCP, and applicable regulations.
* Participate in patient education about their disease, clinical research participation plans, gold standard treatment options, and outcomes.
* Ensure patients are informed of all details pertaining to the clinical study/research project prior to recruitment.
* Screen and obtain fully informed consent from patients enrolling into CRFG studies.
* Maintain patient confidentiality and dignity during all study-related activities.
* Upkeep individual research documentation, including site files, CRFs, monitoring arrangements, data correction, etc.
* Provide nursing knowledge, expertise, and care to patients participating in study protocols and colleagues.
Requirements:
* Current registration with An Bord Altranais.
* Clinical Research Experience.
* GCP (Good Clinical Practice) Training.
* Minimum 4 years nursing experience.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Proven ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Good IT skills, including MS Office applications.
* Competence or willingness to train in phlebotomy procedures.
