Main purpose of the role:
Manage the Meat Department and ensure it operates efficiently and effectively at all times. Provide our customers with excellent quality products and services. Communicate to the team any range changes, offers, or new initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
* 2 years' experience in a Supervisor/Manager role is desirable
* 2 years' experience as a Butcher
* Craft Butchery course is desirable
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
* Numerical skills
* Experience in gross profit and margins is desirable
* Creative
* Ability to engage with and prioritize customer needs
* Strong attention to detail, organized, and flexible
* Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Main duties:

* Maintain retail cuts at a high standard in accordance with customer needs
* Drive sales through KPI reports, financial reports, brand initiatives, customer initiatives, and employee knowledge
* Adhere to weekly stocktaking procedures
* Implement planograms correctly and ensure the correct range is in place in-store
* Attend and engage in weekly management meetings and bring learnings back to the team
* Ensure all staff reporting to you are competent in any duties required and are given adequate training relevant to their tasks
* Enhance product knowledge by gaining information from a range of sources and share ideas, suggestions, and builds on existing procedures/processes with employees and management
* Merchandise and present the department to the highest standard at all times
* Engage with new initiatives and embrace new ways of working.
About the locality:
We are currently recruiting for a Full Time Head Butcher within the Kavanagh Group. The ideal candidate will have proven experience and a track record within the Butcher department operations.

Responsible for maintaining quality, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with food safety/health and safety regulations. To liaise with store HACCP officer & departmental managers when required. Must be available to work flexible hours & commence ASAP.
Responsibilities:
* Manage the daily operations of the butchery department
* Order inventory and supplies to maintain adequate stock levels
* Ensure all equipment is maintained and in good working condition
* Oversee the preparation and packaging of meat products for sale
* Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
* Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability
* Create and maintain attractive displays
* Train new employees and provide ongoing training for current staff
* Provide excellent, friendly, helpful customer service
