Job Title: Associate - NDFA - Project Management Division/Function: NDFA Reports to: Head of Operations Contract Type: 24 Month FTC ****Closing date for applications: 27th January 2025**** Summary of the Business: The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) provides asset and liability management services to the Irish Government.
It has evolved from a single function agency managing the National Debt to a manager of a complex portfolio of public assets and liabilities.
Businesses managed by the NTMA include borrowing for the Exchequer and the management of the National Debt, the State Claims Agency, the New Economy and Recovery Authority, the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, the National Development Finance Agency and the NTMA Future Ireland Funds business unit with responsibility for the management of the Future Ireland Fund and Infrastructure, Climate and Nature Fund.
In addition, the NTMA assigns staff and provides services to the National Asset Management Agency, the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland and Home Building Finance Ireland (together the "Affiliate Agencies").
Role Summary: This is an exciting opportunity for talented and motivated graduates to join the NDFA Project Management division of the NTMA on a 24-month Associate Programme commencing in September 2025.
The programme is open to graduates with a degree in Construction and Infrastructure or a related discipline.
The NDFA: The NDFAprovides financial advice to State authorities in respect of those public investment projects which are referred to it, with a capital value over €75m.
It also procures and delivers Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects as requested by State authorities (with certain exceptions such as Transport Infrastructure Ireland) and directly procures certain Exchequer-funded projects on behalf of the Department of Education.
The NDFA provides a range of financial advisory, project management and project delivery services to State authorities for large capital infrastructure to day you will be working on large scale State capital expenditure projects (typically > €75 million capital) across a diverse range of sectors including education, justice, social housing etc.
You will work alongside officials from relevant Government Departments and agencies, as well as other professional advisors and in partnership with private sector sponsors, construction contractors, equity and debt funders as well as their professional advisers.
The Associate will be required to work alongside all colleagues across the full range of the NDFA (PM) activities.
The Associate will support the NDFA Project Management team through day-to-day duties including but not limited to, the below tasks: Preparation and review of tender documentation Review and evaluation of tender submissions Site visits to monitor construction and operational projects Invoicing reviews Report writing and minute taking Managing relationships across a broad range of clients and transaction types, particularly public private partnerships.
At the end of the programme the successful Associate will have developed a solid knowledge base of the NDFA and the wider NTMA.
Learning and Development: Associates typically also complete additional training and professional chartered examinations, and will be offered the full range of NTMA supports in this regard combined with a detailed associate training programme and associate network across the NTMA in addition to on the job training.

Successful candidates will have a minimum of a 2.1 honors degree or a minimum of a 2.1 Masters, ideally in a related discipline.
