Macro Recruitment Ltd has been retained to support Central Switchgear Ireland in a search for candidates for the position of Mechanical Design Engineer.

Duties
In this role you will work closely with the Project Engineering department in the beginning design stage of new projects:
1. Developing Mechanical switchgear systems designs (layouts, and BOM’s) per project requirements, including sub-distribution.
2. The above will be developed using Steel Work Design Software, such as Cubic Galaxy, Eaton Configurator, Logstrup Design (Cad Based).
3. Prepare detailed Copper Component drawings for production use in a CNC environment, CNC Bending, CNC Cutting and Punching, 3 Axis CNC Machine (Rittal Preforex).
4. Prepare Mechanical bills of materials.
5. Prepare draft layout drawings for tendering purposes.
6. Proactively interact with customers/consultants and other staff to resolve identified issues via phone, in person, and via email.
Requirements
1. Be degree qualified in mechanical design engineering or similar (not essential – those from a technical background who fit the profile will also be considered).
2. Experience with SEE electrical or similar electrical design software, experience with 2D and/or 3D software, and experience with Microsoft Office suite.
3. Be open to new design technology to improve the design process.
