MCS Group is delighted to be exclusively partnering with our client, who is well-established and highly respected within the manufacturing sector. With a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement, they are currently seeking an experienced HR Manager to help lead and develop their people strategy.
The Role:
The successful candidate will work closely with senior site management to design and deliver HR initiatives that drive employee performance, support leadership capability, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, and succession planning.
2. Champion the development of a high-performance culture across the site, promoting clear expectations, strong values, and a focus on results.
3. Partner with leadership teams to ensure HR strategy is aligned with business objectives.
4. Provide expert advice on HR policies, UK employment law, and best practice.
5. Build strong relationships across the site to support a positive, high-performing workplace culture.
6. Manage union or employee representative engagement, where applicable.
7. Lead initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention, and wellbeing.
8. Ensure HR policies and procedures comply with all relevant employment legislation and regulatory requirements.
9. Continuously seek opportunities to improve HR systems, processes, and reporting.
The ideal candidate:
1. Proven HR management experience within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment.
2. A strong track record of shaping and embedding high-performance behaviours and practices.
3. In-depth knowledge of ROI employment law and HR compliance.
4. Experience of working in a unionised setting is highly desirable.
5. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
6. CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience).
