System Administrator (Level 2)
This is a hybrid role that requires the candidate to work in our Dublin office for 3 days a week.
The salary range is €50K-€55K per year, plus bonus and benefits.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled System Administrator to join our team. As a Level 2 System Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and securing our client's IT infrastructure, both on-premise and in the cloud.
Your focus will be on security and Microsoft 365 administration. You will work closely with our existing system administration function and collaborate with multiple partners to ensure that all IT solutions and services are fit for purpose.
In addition, you may be expected to take on a stakeholder role in technical projects as required.
Your Responsibilities
* Perform daily administration of IT systems, including servers, workstations, and network infrastructure.
* Review health check reports, identify any issues, and troubleshoot with partners.
* Work with managed service partners to ensure the availability and performance of systems and key services.
* Assist with the deployment of Windows OS, software, and patches using Microsoft tools such as Autopilot, SCCM, and Intune.
* Manage M365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
* Monitor service performance, troubleshoot issues, and carry out required maintenance.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices, aligning with company policies.
* Install and configure security software, ensuring overall compliance.
* Review security reports and carry out any recommended actions.
* Conduct system audits for technical and physical security.
* Escalate necessary changes to security configurations (including firewall changes) as required.
* Act as an escalation point for Level 1 Service Desk and the wider I.T. team.
* Prioritize tasks and complete them in an effective and timely manner.
Your Experience & Skills
* You should have a 3rd level IT qualification and 3+ years of experience in a similar system administration role.
* Proven experience supporting server operating systems (Windows Server 2019 & above, Linux), ideally within virtual environments.
* Experience managing Active Directory (on-premises and Azure), DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
* Proficiency in managing and administering M365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
* Experience or understanding of Application Delivery Controllers or Load Balancers (advantageous).
* Strong understanding of networking principles.
* Experience with security tools and technologies (patch management, antivirus, firewalls).
* Experience working in a cloud environment is a significant advantage.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
* Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
