An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced Project Engineer to join a specialist engineering firm on a permanent contract. This customer-facing role focuses on production, scheduling, commercial, and continuous improvement activities.
Role Overview
* Customer-focused and customer-facing
* Project engineering/project management of programs and projects across the company, including equipment, continuous improvement projects/activities, supplier management, service identification, selection, and delivery
* Equipment design, automation, and related services
* Lead project management activities: project planning, tracking, risk management, reporting, communications
* Process engineering: process setup, validation, improvements, procedure update, and development
Key Responsibilities
* Sales support through quotation and proposal activities
* Supports and may lead customer audits and visits
* Project ownership, including schedule, resourcing, and budget management
* Leads the design team on various fabrication projects, coordinating with engineering, quality, supply chain, finance, sales, and production teams
* Proposes, plans, executes, and closes projects and equipment introductions across functional teams
* Identifies and leads Continuous Improvement and cost reduction initiatives
* Demonstrates strong knowledge of process improvement tools and Lean methodologies
* Develops efficient equipment and processes, eliminating waste and improving quality, cost, material flow, and layout
* Supports engineering procedures development and upgrade to ISO 9001 and EN 1090 standards
* May own and lead CAPA and NCE activities
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering subject required
* Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing environment required
* Customer-facing experience
* Project engineering and project management experience
A successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of project engineering principles, excellent communication skills, and experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
