Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Systems Engineer to join our team at SL Controls, a leading provider of Equipment System Integration solutions to manufacturers in the life sciences and technology sectors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support for wide-ranging manufacturing processes, including design, planning, and support of high-speed automation lines. They will also drive activities with suppliers to ensure automation and software support is achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and execute engineering modifications to optimize processes and outcomes.
* Design and direct engineering studies and experiments aimed at improving system functionality.
* Evaluate issues and analyze their repercussions on projects and workflows.
* Define design and process specifications that meet project objectives.
* Ensure all documentation adheres to established company protocols for clarity and compliance.
This role requires a flexible shift pattern, including late shifts, nights, and weekend work. The ideal candidate must be able to adapt to these requirements.
Requirements:
* 3+ years of experience in PLC programming with Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLC systems.
* Familiarity with Siemens PLC systems and knowledge of vision systems.
* Working knowledge of RFID communications.
* Experience in generating and executing software test plans.
* Background in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and validation of high-speed automation equipment.
Person Specification:
* Bachelor's degree in Industry Automation, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience and demonstrated competence.
* 3+ years of experience in an automation engineering role, with at least 2 years in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environments (Life Sciences, Pharma, Medical Devices).
* Ability to commute to Kilkenny or relocate to the area.
