Hours of Work: 45 Hours Per Week – Monday to Friday.
Key Job Duties & Responsibilities:Overseeing Distribution Operations: The Distribution Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the distribution team.
Staff Management: The Distribution Manager will oversee recruiting, training, and supervising distribution staff.
This includes creating work schedules, assigning tasks, and ensuring that team members adhere to safety and operational protocols.
Transportation Compliance: Oversee Driver Infringement levels and support in further training required.
Ensure the depot is always fully RSA compliant and work with all relevant departments for audits.
Process Improvement: Identifying areas for improvement within the distribution process is essential.
The Distribution Manager should analyse current operations, implement best practices, and use Transport Management system to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Health and Safety: Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards is a vital part of the role.
The Distribution Manager must develop and enforce policies that promote a safe working environment and adhere to legal requirements.
Budget Management: The Distribution Manager is responsible for managing the budget for the distribution department in collaboration with the Head of Operations.
Customer Service: Maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction is paramount.
The Distribution Manager must ensure that orders are fulfilled accurately and on time, addressing any issues that may arise during the distribution process.
Reporting and Analysis: Monthly reporting on distribution KPI's.
The Distribution Manager will analyse R&R efficiencies and maximize the fleet usage.
Collaboration with Other Departments: The Distribution Manager will collaborate with other departments, such as commercial, warehousing, and supply chain to ensure a smooth and high-level depot performance.
Essential Criteria:Degree in logistics, business and/or transport/distribution management is an essential requirement.Excellent communication and critical-thinking skills to manage business performance by coordinating with different teams on achieving business goals and objectives.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Negotiation and analytical skills.Strong supervisory and leadership skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.A positive attitude to continued learning.Desirable Criteria:Background/experience working in Food Industry product.Related several years of work experience, such as transport warehousing, storage.
