Job Description
A Commissioning Engineer is needed to support the delivery of AWS Data Centers. The successful candidate will work at sites located in APJC and support the Global team.
Key Responsibilities
* Systems Analysis
o Understand the design concept and intent by reviewing mechanical and electrical construction documentation, including drawings, specifications, vendor submittals and sequences of operations
o Provide recommendations and feedback regarding the design, equipment selection, pre-functional checklists, startup and functional test scripts developed by others, maintainability, construct-ability and commission-ability
o Review documentation for compliance with Amazon standards, industry standards, and design specifications
o Assess the capability of commissioned systems to match the design
* Systems Validation
o Verify the system's performance, including establishing acceptance criteria, obtaining completed reports, performing verification and spot checking for validation
o Assist in as-built documentation and review for accuracy and completeness
o Communicate commissioning issues, questions and concerns through proper channels in a timely manner
o Work with internal and external teams to assure testing equipment is calibrated
* Project Management
o Manage and commissioning of critical infrastructure to properly test and validate installation, operation and performance of mechanical, electrical and controls systems.
o Ability to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions
o Vendor management and coordinate with commissioning authority to work in accordance with Amazon practice and documentation
o Represent ACx in projects coordination meetings with vendors and contractors
o Maintain commissioning documentation - Track commissioning issues until resolved and closed
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
* Experience in Commissioning; Mechanical or Electrical Design; Construction Project Management; Control System installation or maintenance; HVAC testing and balancing; Facilities operations and/or maintenance
* Business proficiency in both English and Korean, limited working proficiency in Japanese.
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
* Advance knowledge of mechanical systems and basic knowledge of electrical and fire alarm/life safety systems.
* Ability and willingness to travel domestic and internationally for up to 50% of the time
* Experience of work in construction environment and unfamiliar conditions that require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and experience in troubleshooting including the use of handheld equipment
* Required to provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office; reimbursed.
