About us:
The Tax Risk & Quality (R&Q) team within the Tax Practice of PwC Ireland currently comprises 10 members led by our Partner Joe Tynan. The Tax R&Q team is responsible for implementing the firm’s R&Q compliance programme for the Tax Practice (850+ staff) on an ongoing basis. This incorporates annual training programmes, carrying out engagement compliance reviews and business unit reviews and supporting the tax practice with their R&Q processes, procedures and contracting queries.
The role:
We are looking to recruit a Tax R&Q specialist on a one-year contract to support the Tax practice by carrying out routine R&Q procedures for clients. You will have a key role in operating and supporting the administration of internal systems and processes designed to ensure compliance with R&Q procedures within PwC’s Tax department. The R&Q procedures include the following:
1. Reviewing our Letters of engagements/Contracts
2. Complying with the firms Anti-Money Laundering procedures
3. Reviewing the status of clients from an independence perspective and preparing Authorisation for Services (AFS) requests when appropriate
4. Documenting the status of the R&Q procedures and acceptance of both clients & engagements using Salesforce & AODocs, the firm’s technology systems.

As a result, our systems, technologies and procedures are constantly being updated so these developments afford our team the opportunity to upskill their digital skills. You will be working with a multitude of global systems like Salesforce and M365, among others.
As a Specialist, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive industry experience, helping our engagement teams to carry out their R&Q procedures and to solve their queries. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Develop a thorough understanding of the firm’s R&Q procedures
2. Work as part of the Tax R&Q team processing the firm’s R&Q procedures for a portfolio of clients
3. Embrace the digital transformation being undertaken in our business. Being motivated to familiarise yourself with these evolutions and to drive these technologies further in our day to day business
4. Embrace changes in procedures arising as a result of changes in legislation and work with the Tax R&Q team to adopt any globally rolled out technologies or systems
5. Assist in the ongoing management of internal relationships
6. Utilise the flexible working environment with efficient management of personal assignments, working closely with the Tax R&Q team
7. Development of your own career
8. Mentor and coach trainees, promoting autonomy to make a difference and deliver results

About you – Key Competencies & Experience:
1. Office experience of 6 months in a similar environment
2. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics or similar desirable but not essential
3. Keen interest in developing skills in Risk
4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. A commitment to exceptional service
6. The ability to interact with various levels of firm management and staff.
7. Good analytical & numerical skills
8. Strong computer applications skills & general proficiency in IT systems
9. Excellent planning and organising skills
10. Highly methodical with excellent attention to detail.
11. Keen focus on improving processes and ways of working.
12. Enthusiastic team player.
13. Demonstrate strong commitment and willingness to learn, upskill and adapt to change.
