Quality Manager
About the Role:
We are seeking a strong and experienced Quality Manager to lead the implementation and maintenance of our quality management system and factory production control system. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining our ISO quality system certification, ensuring continued compliance with relevant standards, and driving a culture of high quality and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, communicate, and maintain a quality plan to ensure our QMS is in compliance with ISO quality system requirements.
* Report to company management and staff on the performance of the QMS and identify areas for improvement.
* Liaise with external assessment bodies on accreditation processes.
* Ensure regular reviews of the QMS to assess opportunities for improvement and implement changes as necessary.
* Set and review Quality Objectives with senior management to measure the performance of the QMS.
Factory Production Control System:
* Develop, implement, communicate, and maintain a factory production control system to ensure compliance with EN 206:2013 certification of batching equipment and related processes.
* Ensure aggregates used in production meet EN 12620 requirements.
Excellence in Product Quality:
* Ensure all suppliers are selected, evaluated, and re-evaluated, with records maintained.
* Work with external providers to resolve quality-related issues.
* Assess product specifications against customer requirements.
* Interact with Production and other teams to ensure quality products.
Training:
* Induct new staff into QMS requirements and provide update training as necessary.
* Identify re-training needs and work with the Production Manager to ensure planned training is carried out.
Reporting:
* Generate and communicate required Quality reports.
* Capture and report non-conformances and corrective/preventative action plans.
Overall Quality Improvement:
* Lead a culture of continuous quality improvement using result trends and cost of quality calculations.
* Communicate company quality requirements throughout the organisation.
Quality Assurance and Customer Service:
* Deal with customer queries/issues in a professional and speedy manner.
* Implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
* Conduct periodic assessments of customer satisfaction and implement improvements.
General Tasks:
* Take on additional tasks as required by the team.
* Monitor legislative updates and apply necessary changes promptly.
* Develop and regularly review Risk Assessments and SOPs for job tasks.
Requirements:
* Recognised 3rd-level quality-related qualification.
* Background in managing and leading a team in a multi-site manufacturing environment.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in civil engineering/construction/rail/infrastructure.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
* Proven ability to challenge across the organisation to achieve results.
* Excellent IT skills.
