Locum Staff Grade Clinical or Counselling Psychologist
The Psychology Service in Portlaoise Prison provides evidence-based psychological approaches to working with men with complex and challenging clinical and criminogenic needs.
This role is part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with Prison Governors, Prison Officers, and other specialists. You will have regular contact with staff at IPS HQ and community agencies involved in the support and resettlement of offenders.
Duties:
1. Carry a clinical caseload and contribute to the delivery of a professional Psychology Service.
2. Carry out psychological assessments and formulate and implement therapeutic intervention or management as appropriate.
3. Provide professional reports, such as for the Parole Board process.
4. Work effectively with other team members and participate in inter-agency work practice and service delivery.
Requirements:
* Graduate membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the British Psychological Society (BPS).
* A postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical Psychology recognised by PSI or a postgraduate professional qualification in Counselling Psychology recognised by PSI.
