Read more about our work at Stantec Hydropower & Dams.You will join a growing team of mechanical and electrical engineers working closely with our multi-disciplinary teams. You will design, develop and support the testing of mechanical systems for hydropower and pumped storage hydro projects, including some or all of: turbines, pumps, generators, and control systems.As a Principal, you will take line management responsibility for some members of the team, support business growth and strategy development, and take ownership of project deliverables.Your role on projects includes traditional advisory, Owner’s Engineer, client-facing concept design, contractor-facing detailed design, remediation and troubleshooting, installation support, and Lender’s engineer/insurance/due diligence support.You will be responsible for working and liaising with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors, planners, and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for the projects and community. You will help lead the team, acting as a mentor or guide to less experienced members.This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who is passionate about sustainable energy and eager to make a significant impact in the industry.About YouYou will be Chartered or Incorporated status with the IMechE is preferred. Specific experience in mechanical design of hydro and/or pumped storage hydro systems is a must.
