You support our team as
Facilities Maintenance Technician
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the smooth operation of the physical building, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other mechanical systems.
2. Upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of all facility systems, equipment, and grounds.
3. Adhere to company policies and safety procedures.
4. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems.
5. Repair or replace faulty systems and equipment as required.
6. Respond promptly to maintenance requests addressing and resolving any issues in a timely manner.
7. Maintain and troubleshoot heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to ensure efficiency and comfort.
8. Familiar with electrical systems and work with electricians, ensuring compliance with safety standards and local building regulations.
9. Manage plumbing systems, including repairs to taps, toilets, pipes, and drains. Perform Legionella prevention activities.
10. Conduct regular safety checks to ensure compliance with building and safety regulations.
11. Monitor cleanliness and safety of common areas, such as lobbies, hallways, toilets, elevators, and external courtyards.
12. Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies, and order additional materials when necessary.
13. Assist in the coordination of building inspections and ensure compliance with local regulations.
14. Maintain records of work performed, including maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory usage.
15. Availability for emergency call-out or after-hour work, as required.
16. Salt and clear footpaths and cobbled areas during < 4 degrees Celsius weather, outside of business hours as applicable. Ensure sufficient stocks of salt are available to last 10 working days.
17. Co-ordinate contractors involved in site maintenance activities ensuring they adhere to site safety procedures.
18. Inspection and maintenance of roof access system and ensuring compliance with roof access procedures.
19. Demonstrate leadership and commitment with respect to the OH&S, Environmental and Energy Management Systems by developing, leading, and promoting a culture which supports the intended outcomes of the management systems. Directing and supporting persons to contribute to the effectiveness of these management systems.
20. Adhere to Plant Safety requirements and Health & Safety requirements relating to your work, assuming responsibility for those aspects of the OH&S System over which you have control to ensure the health and safety of yourself and others.
21. Be aware of the potential environmental impacts associated with your work and the implications of non-conformance.
Qualifications:
* Required:
* Technical certification in facilities maintenance, construction, HVAC, electrical, or plumbing (preferred).
* Relevant apprenticeship or on-the-job training (preferred).
* 3 years previous experience in Facilities Maintenance and/or Construction Industry.
* A valid driver’s license for transportation between sites.
* Desirable:
* Candidates with time-served experience in a wide range of relevant trades.
* Proven experience as a facilities or maintenance technician or similar role.
* Solid understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
* Ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs effectively and efficiently.
* Knowledge of building safety standards and regulations.
* Proficient with maintenance tools and machinery.
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise work effectively.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
